Hi! I'm Navin Chittavong. The founder and owner of Hai Hai Anime Shop.

Honestly, all I wanted to do was to visit Japan after I graduated from college but I can never go because of various reasons (+ during COVID years) .. so I had a thought. How am I supposed to bring that energy and that life to me if I can't reach it? If I can't go to Japan, I will just bring Japan home to me! Sounds delusional and impossible right? In reality, I'm usually the odd one, thinking beyond and pushing to my limits almost every day of the week but I believe I can do it.

Funny story - I thought anime was lame but when I decided to learn about the Japanese culture and the animation life; it's pretty amazing! This dream of mine started fall of 2020. My goal is trying to be the best anime shop in the Midwest. I want to show people the animation world how incredible it is and how it shows many life lessons in many shows/series! Even though I'm only a few years in "this world" and I know I'm missing out on a lot of things but we are just getting started.

I will do the best to my ability to bring that world, home! A message to everyone who supported locally and virtually since the shop has been opened since spring 2023, thank you for your support.
